Walks are organised to suit all levels of difficulty and are divided into

WALKING SHORT BREAKS 2012

Aughton and Ormskirk U3A have been offered a short break of four nights with HF Holidays Ltd

Whitby 30 04 2012 for four nights
Coniston  15 09 2012 for four nights

The deposit for the Coniston short break (£60.00) should have been paid by 1st December 2011

All guests who registered for this holiday have been accepted for this booking

As with all HF accommodation the accommodation has been improved and modernised. The rooms are a mixture of twin and single. We have exclusive use of the Country House and the holiday price remains the same for all guests regardless of facilities

MALHAM - U3A WALKING SHORT BREAK 2011
Aughton & Ormskirk U3A in conjunction with HF Holidays Ltd organised a short break at Newfield Hall, Malhamdale, South Yorkshire Dales. This was enjoyed by over 70 people. Hefina and Walter would like to offer their sincere thanks to all guests and to those who so willingly assumed responsibilities for the activities and who contributed so much to another successful short break


MONDAY AFTERNOON SHORT WALKS

walking bootsThis group walks on the 4th Monday of the month starting at 1.30pm. Walks are local and leisurely and upto 5 miles in length and over easy terrain. Just turn up at the starting place for any Monday walk. Please contact the coordinator if you need more details or a lift. Wear good footwear for all walks- it can by muddy!.

Monday 28th November: Burscough area. Leader: Margaret Wiechers. Meet at 1.30 at The Warfe by the canal in Burscough. Park in The Warfe car park or in Lord Street car park.

December - No Walk

Monday 23rd January 2012: Leader: Eric Morris. Meet at 1.30 at Fir Tree Farm, Kings Moss, near Rainford, WA11 8RG, for a short walk to Crawford. Lunches and teas are available at Fir Tree Farm. Click here for a map of the starting place or please ring if you need directions.

Monday 27th February: Leader: Ann Robinson. Meet at 1.30 in Tarleton at the Church Road car park opposite Websters for a walk along the river Douglas to Bank Hall to see the snowdrops

Monday 26th March: Leader Willem Wiechers. Meet at 1.30 at Aughton Village Hall for a 5 mile local walk round the footpaths and lanes of Aughton

THURSDAY LEISURELY WALKS: This walking group is for those who wisht to amble. Walks are usually held on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Walks are up to 5 miles followed by a pub lunch

It has been decided to keep the maximun number of walkers to 25 firstly because of booking places to eat and secondly with more than 25 the group tends to spread out too much.

MEDIUM WALKS
This group meets at 1000 for 1015 start for a 5-7 mile walk at an easy pace with a good social interaction over lunch at the end of the walk.

LONGER WALKS (Thursdays)
This group walks at a leisurely pace on not too difficult terrain with a pub lunch stop where possible. The distance is usually between 7 and 11 miles. Please wear good footwear and carry waterproofs. Coordinator: Tom Hodson 421 676
