Tai Chi is a relaxing form of gentle exercise which has become associated with stress relief and health improvement

The original Chinese exercise regime, developed thousands of years ago, and the basis of Yoga, Pilates and the martial arts, Tai Chi practices 24 basic moves, covering all the muscles of the body. It is performed standing up, so no-one needs a mat or excessive space. Regular use improves flexibility, breathing control and quality of sleep, decreases stress levels, increases energy, concentra tion and a general sense of well-being. Bob Broughton uses a simplified routine and will welcome new members to his weekly class. He suggests wearing comfortable clothes and not eating too much before the session.
