Music Appreciation

Music Appreciation is a group of U3A members who like play, listen and learn covering a wide range of music genres. We meet every 4th Tuesday in the month (except December) at 2pm in the small hall at the Scout HQ.

Each month one of our members will play a programme of their choice of music lasting about 75 mins. The last 30 mins can be played by any other members of the keeping within that days theme.

A break for tea/coffee is taken about 3pm. Occasionally throughout the year an open format programme is arranged when members will play a single piece of music of their choice and lasting no longer than 6 mins. This allows everyone the chance and time to play their choice.

Over past few years almost every genre of music has been played and listened to from light music to extreme classical including Stage Shows, Dance Music, Opera, Ballet and Orchestral and including Composers from Gershwin to Miaskovsky with performances by well known and sometimes little known soloists.

Come and join us for an interesting and stimulating afternoon with the opportunity to play and discuss your choice of music.
