Moneywise

THIS popular group meets on the 2nd Friday of most months at the Scout and Guide HQ from 1400-1530 with coffee/tea served from 1330. Presentations are given by specialist speakers on topics which have been requested by members of the U3A. The invited speakers provide detailed financial information on the topic under consideration and offer advice as required.

U3A members are encouraged to suggest financial topics for future meetings to any of the Moneywise coordinators who will make every effort to organise a presentation by a professional financial expert on that topic.

All U3A members are very welcome at any of the Moneywise meetings; full information about
all meetings is published in the newsletter and on the U3A noticeboard; in addition the popular U3A contractors list is published quarterly by the Moneywise group.

Money saving tips: Have we any tips from members to pass on in these days of energy /price increases etc?
Tip 1  – Read your gas & electric meters every month & send in the readings either online or by phone to avoid the estimated bills.
Tip 2 – For your telephone: try to find ‘an inclusive calls package for anytime’ –all calls all week- not just evenings and weekends so that all landline calls will be included otherwise daytime calls will be extra and expensive.
