Latin and the Roman World

Latin and the Roman World meetings are held twice monthly on the first and third Tuesdays of each month between 2:15 and 4:15 pm, in Aughton Village Hall, unless otherwise notified.

The Study-Group is progressing well, and its members are improving their knowledge of "Latin and the Roman World", as well as Dark Age and Medieval Britain from Latin sources e.g. the Bayeux Tapestry and monastic records.

We will continue to study Classical Latin, and touch on matters like Medieval Latin. The "Roman World" embraces topics such as history, archaeology, Roman society, cuisine, theatre, religion, warfare, and Roman Britain, as well as famous Romans such as Virgil and Cicero. We are about to move onto studying Volume 2 in the "Cambridge Latin Course".

From March 2012 meetings will be held twice monthly on the first and third Tuesdays of each month between 2:15 and 4:15 pm, in Aughton Village Hall, unless otherwise notified.
