The Holiday group is intended to act a meeting place where groups of like minded persons can come together so they can organise small group holidays giving them the chance to get a tour operator to tailor a trip to their taste and also to obtain discounts.

It will also be somewhere where individuals may find others with whom they would like to go on holiday, thus providing company on the journey and companionship at the destination.

Cruise the Rhine with U3A and Viking. Basel to Amsterdam.

Proposed River Cruise. Sorry about this but it became clear that the river cruise was a non starter. The cabins were selling out and there was no way there would have been enough for those wishing to go at the lowest cost. Indeed it was down the 6 available very quickly.
The problem is that we have to commit over 12 months in advance and pay a deposit if we are to get cabins, sorry, staterooms at the discounted price. More than £500 off.
It seems it would well be cheaper and easier to organise a sea cruise.
However, if anyone should read this please use these pages to suggest ideas for holidays and to seek other members who might go with you..
I will put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with something for 2012
