Helping Each Other (HEOG)

The Helping Each Other Group was set up to ensure that members with mobility or health difficulties are not excluded from attending activities. As members age this can become a problem but continuing to interact with others is vital for both physical and mental health.

The group comprises just a few members but relies on help from other people. It has organised theatre trips with Dial-a-ride, is planning further outings, sends cards to members who are seriously ill and is on constant alert to solve problems.

If you have difficulty getting out and have not been able to arrange transport to U3A activities through other members, you can contact the HEOG group members below for help or advice.

A Day out to see Anthony Gormley's Iron Men

heogOn Wednesday 5th October about 10 members and 6 helpers had a really exceptional day out to see Anthony Gormley’s iron men, although very windy, the sun shone brightly and nearly everyone managed to get as far as the ice cream van! The day was rounded off by a visit to Ladygreen Garden Centre, where everyone did a little shopping and then had the most fantastic cream and strawberry scone and tea.
