The Golf Group meets at Leisure Lakes Academy for 9 or 18 holes at every Wednesday at 10.50.

All members interested in taking up golf are welcome; no partners are required and use of the range is available in bad weather.

Try golf for free!

U3a members have a fantastic opportunity to try golf for free at the Leisure Lakes Golf Academy.

For just over a year now award winning PGA Professional Norman Marshall has been offering free taster golf lessons to our members. Over 70 U3a members have taken advantage of this opportunity. The offer consists of 4 hour-long sessions over a 4-week period, this is absolutely free of charge and no equipment is required, for those whose interest has been aroused this is followed by a further 6 weeks of heavily discounted tuition, from this point you can venture out onto the course either under further supervision or under your own steam.

Norman and his staff are offering to hire sets of clubs to our members, free of charge for a 3-month period beyond this point. This means that there is no or very little financial outlay while you decide if golf is a game for you.

Many of our members have gone on to take advantage of discounted memberships and equipment deals, however this is a no strings attached offer. You are free to get involved, come along and try, or move on to another interest at any time, with absolutely no obligation.
